Day 01: Mumbai-Varanasi
Morning board flights to Varanasi and upon arrival meet with our representatives who shall assist & transfer you to the designated hotel. Take time to relax and unwind before heading out to explore the city known as the ultimate pilgrimage destination. With a history dating back to 3000 BC, Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world and its historical monuments, ancient ruins, deep rooted culture blends seamlessly with the religious fervor to present a one of its kind experience.
We shall be visiting the famous temples & shrines during the rest of the day starting from Vishwanath Temple-one of the prominent pilgrimage destination in the city. Proceed toward Durga Temple believed to be the abode of Goddess Durga and Adhai Kangra Mosque built during the period that saw the Muslim rule being established in the country. The 18th century Ramnagar Fort is our next destination followed by visit to the ghats of River Ganges for the ‘Aarti ceremony’. The spectacle involves thousands of lamps being floated on the river by the devotees as a mark of respect to the river as well as a sacred ritual. Dinner & overnight stay at Varanasi Hotel.
Day 02: Varanasi
Morning proceed for the boat ride upon the river Ganges which is one of cities famous attractions. With the priests chanting mantras and performing rituals, devotees taking holy bath and ringing of temple bells reverberating in the air is truly a site to behold.
Varanasi is also called ‘the city of Ghats’ and we shall be visiting some of the most famous ones like Dashaswamedh Ghat, Assi Ghat and Manikarnika Ghat. This is followed by visit to the famous Banaras Hindu University (BHU) housing several famous buildings inside its vast complex. Dinner & overnight stay at Varanasi hotel.
Day 03: Varanasi-Sarnath
Morning set out for a short excursion trip to Sarnath, known and renowned the world over as a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage destination. The place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after achieving enlightenment, Sarnath today is a historical place housing several ancient ruins and monuments worth visiting. Mulugadha Kuti Vihar, Chaukhandi Stupa, Dhamek Stupa, are the prominent ones that we shall explore.
After the eventful excursion, our representatives shall drive you to Varanasi airport for connecting flight to Mumbai, as your Extended Varanasi tour comes to an end.
